SMS Service Details and Privacy Notice
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This notice is for patients who receive SMS messages from a pharmacy using Dragatron — not for pharmacies themselves. If you're a pharmacy looking to use Dragatron, see our Platform page instead.
Dragatron is the pharmacy management platform your pharmacy runs on, and SMS messaging is one part of it. Each pharmacy sends from its own dedicated number, so messages you get always come from the same number rather than a shared or rotating one.
There's no charge for receiving these messages (your mobile carrier's standard rates may still apply), and you're free to stop them whenever you like.
Messages you might receive
What you actually get depends on which services your pharmacy has switched on. Broadly, it falls into three groups:
Your prescriptions
- a nudge when a repeat is due, or when an order is ready to collect;
- a secure link to pay for an amount owing on an order;
- clinical or medication-related messages your pharmacist decides are needed.
Health services
- vaccination and immunisation reminders, plus any follow-up after a clinical service;
- appointment reminders and booking confirmations.
Pharmacy programs
- invitations to join a program or digital health service the pharmacy runs;
- general updates, offers, or promotions from the pharmacy.
How to unsubscribe
A patient can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message received. This is handled automatically by our messaging platform and takes effect immediately — no pharmacy action is needed. A patient can also contact the pharmacy directly and ask them to update their communication preferences.
Opting out applies across every Dragatron pharmacy a patient is registered with, not just the one that sent the message — so replying STOP once is enough to stop SMS from all of them. If a message was received in error, please contact the pharmacy or reply STOP to the message.
To start receiving messages again after opting out, contact the pharmacy directly. Resubscribing isn't automatic — the pharmacy needs to re-establish consent with the patient before messages resume.
Privacy & how your information is handled
Dragatron supplies the technology; your pharmacy supplies the mobile number and the dispensing or clinical detail behind each message (for example, that a script is ready). We use that information only to deliver the message on the pharmacy's behalf — we don't sell it, and we don't use it for our own marketing.
Message content and delivery records are kept for a limited period, mainly to confirm delivery, troubleshoot issues, and support the pharmacy's own record-keeping obligations. The accuracy of the contact details and message content is the pharmacy's responsibility, not ours.
This notice is specific to the SMS service. For how Dragatron handles personal and health information more broadly, see our full Privacy Policy, which we maintain in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Got a technical question about the SMS service itself — not a specific message, prescription, or your care? Email us at support@dragatron.com.au. The service is provided by Dragatron Pty Ltd (ABN 27 637 798 871) on behalf of your pharmacy; anything about your care or a specific message belongs with the pharmacy directly.
